Just in time before Sunbreak, this is my definitive Heavy Bowgun build guide for the base game of Monster Hunter Rise. With so many ammos available to build towards, I was able to get really crazy with the variety this time around. There’s everything you could ever want to hunt with here from sticky sets to shot-type standard builds, elemental gunning variants to more meme sets than you can shake a stick at.

This video was many, many months in the making, with gameplay footage drawn from hundreds of hours of hunts, and is also my first video featuring footage entirely from the PC version of Rise. If your browser supports it, definitely check this out in its full native 4k resolution at 60fps. I will continue this series into Sunbreak, though I am not quite sure yet if I will do the three update videos for the weapons I have already covered first, or just move on to the next one and eventually come back. We shall see!

Big shoutout to Livi, Logan, Noah, Kat, and Prof, as well as the Wiggler Gang Discord and the Monster Hunter Gathering Hall Discord for all the help in the finer points of this guide. I know I couldn’t cover everything in this video, and some decisions on builds I made out of personal preference, but with everyone’s help I do feel I made the most comprehensive guide possible. Thank you all!

In-game graphical/soundtrack assets used are all from the Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne games published by Capcom.
